PRESS RELEASE: Haridopolos Announces Health Care Solutions Tour

Incoming Florida Senate President Mike Haridopolos today announced the details of a Health Care Solutions Tour, which will visit a wide range of health care facilities and host roundtable discussions throughout Florida next week.  The tour will allow lawmakers the opportunity to listen to Floridians know the state’s health care system best and will focus on patient-centered solutions to Florida’s Medicaid crisis.

PRESS RELEASE: Haridopolos on Decision to Allow Taxpayer Funded Abortions in PA

During the 2010 Legislative Session, Senator Haridopolos and Representative Gaetz filed an amendment to HB 1143 that continued existing Florida policy that public funds cannot be used to pay for elective abortions.  Although the amendment was adopted, the bill was later vetoed by Governor Charlie Crist.  Today, Haridopolos pointed to the Pennsylvania decision as additional proof that the law was, and is, necessary in Florida.
